Mike Pence did not abandon Donald Trump as you seem to think.

Vice President Mike Pence denounced President Donald Trump’s supporters who violently stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday as lawmakers reconvened to certify Joe Biden’s electoral victory.

"We condemn the violence that took place here in the strongest possible terms," Pence said as he presided over the Senate chamber as it reopened after the building was secure.

"To those who wreaked havoc in our capitol today, you did not win," he added. "Violence never wins. Freedom wins. And this is still the people’s House."

Mike Pence is the Vice President of the United States. Mike Pence is first and foremost at the service of the United States and the American people.

When the President of the United States is constantly acting against the interests of the American people, there comes a time when the Vice President must do what is best for the American people.

Mike Pence chose the American people over Donald Trump and his conspiracy theory. He is to be thanked for that. If Mike Pence had continued to support Donald Trump in his madness, it would have brought even more chaos to the situation that Donald Trump created.

Mike Pence chose to preserve American democracy. It is an essential choice.

Too bad Mike Pence did not decide to do this a long time ago and leave Donald Trump alone in the face of these delusions.
