The average global life expectancy around the world is about 70 years. Seems like a long time, but when you think about it, you only have a brief window where you can accomplish most of the greatest moments in your life.

Sometimes you can just be in a bad headspace and fall into not being productive without realizing. Nevertheless, a lot of people spend their life merely passing the time rather than making the most of the short time they have left. You may be needlessly bleeding precious hours away with your careless ways, here are signs you're wasting your life:

Diet: You pay no attention what you put in your mouth. Food, is the fuel for our soul, eat wisely.

Excessive drinking: There will be a time, you wake up and realize half your life was wasted on bad choices and the other half of not remembering.

Toxic relationship: Many stay in unhappy abusive relationships for this reason: We fall in love with who we were when we were with them. Not in love with them.

Career: Many spend their life climbing the corporate ladder, or working 2–3 jobs just to scrap by. Find one thing you’re great at and double down on that! There is more to life than societal success.

Pleasing others: If you’re entire life is based around pleasing others and not upsetting them, you are wasting your life! Not everyone will like us, we will upset some people, and we sure as shit can’t please everyone. Those that are meant to be in your life, will be in your life.

Choices: If you are a walking bad choice, dig into that! Why do you make the choices you make? I’m a firm believer the person we become is dictated by our choices in early life. That one choice, can make for a wasteful life.

Judging yourself: Who gives a shit what they think about you! Are you happy being you, for the most part? We will all make mistakes, and if you’re healthy minded you own that mistake and correct it. But quit living your life judging yourself. Life is hard enough.

Societal Norm: You know, most live by this. Get married, get the 9–5x have 3 kids, live in the burbs, get the 2 vacations a year, living the American dream right?! Don’t get me wrong, that life might be for some. But I’ve talked to many with regrets. Some can have the best of both worlds and nothing is wrong with that. If you are young, get out and live a little before marrying. And which ever life you chose, make it the best damn life it can be! We only get one.

Authentic: You hear many saying “be true to yourself” be, your “authentic self” while most are scared shitless to be them! Be, who and what makes you happy. Not your parents, not your friends, not society, YOU! You are the person you will spend the most time with. It’d be hell being with someone you don’t know, right?
