Kamala Harris said in a statement that "Together with the rest of my team, today’s appointees will work to get this virus under control, open our economy responsibly and make sure it lifts up all Americans, and restore and advance our country’s leadership around the world,".
Today I announced Tina Flournoy as my Chief of Staff, @RohiniKos as my Domestic Policy Advisor, and Nancy McEldowney as my National Security Advisor. Earlier US President-elect Joe Biden approved an all-female communications' staff few days ago. Now, another move has been taken by VP Harris and that is the appointment of all senior staff members as women including Hartina Flournoy as chief of staff, Nancy McEldowney is named as her national security adviser and Rohini Kosoglu, is going to serve the office as her domestic policy adviser.
President-elect Joe Biden and Harris have made a point of making historic appointments to staff jobs and cabinet positions, pledging to build a team “that looks like America.” It stands in contrast to the cabinet and staff for President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, which is largely White.
Following Biden-Harris victory in the 2020 elections, this all-women team will be serving under the first woman of Indian-origin and the first woman ever to be elected as US Vice President.
