Retired Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa has announced his resignation as a special assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.

Pakistan's prime minister Imran Khan accepted his request to relinquish him from the portfolio of SAPM on information and broadcasting.
The reason behind Bajwa's resignation was that he alleging that Asim Bajwa’s brothers, wife, and two sons “own a business empire which set up 99 companies in four countries, including a pizza franchise with 133 restaurants worth an estimated $39.9 million.” and that assets he has made that were not displayed. He was subjected to heavy criticism from the opposition party. which Asim Bajwa rejected completely.
Last month he had announced his resignation but at that time that resignation was turned down by Imran Khan. But today, he has tweeted that he had asked the Pakistani prime minister to a willing question from the change of SAPM the special adviser to the prime minister of Imran Khan on information and broadcasting to which the Pakistani prime minister Imran khan has excepted.
Asif Saleem Bajwa was holding two portfolios one that the China Pakistan economic corridor authority. A body that is tasked to overlook to keep their projects and second is the special assistant on information and broadcasting. He has stepped down as the SAPM on information and broadcasting and would continue to work in his capacity as the chairman of the secret authority.
