Pakistani drama-makers have succeeded in making a name for themselves and Our film industry is still in a process of emerging, new directors have come up with good movies and some are even experimenting with new genres but why we’re copying international films or web series.

A photoshoot of the Pakistani show '50 Crores' went viral and it bears striking similarities to the original money heist also known as La Casa de Papel.

On 18th October, posters released showcase blatant ripoff or copy of the Spanish hit show, Money Heist.

The Spanish TV show called “La Casa de Papel’ revolves around an unusual group of robbers who attempt to carry out the most perfect robbery in Spanish history- that is to steal 2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain. The show has garnered attention from around the globe with die-hard fans in Pakistan as well.

The photoshoot comprised of the celebs posing for mugshots. What caught the attention of many users were the names on those mugshots. The celebrities such as Faysal Quraishi, Aijaz Aslam, Zhalay Sarhadi, Saboor Aly, Anoushay Abbasi, Asad Siddiqui, Naveed Raza, and Mehmood Aslam could be seen posing for a photo shoot. Each celeb was named after a city in Pakistan, such as Raza as Lalamusa, Aly as Sahiwal, Sarhadi as Mianwali, Aslam as Rahim Yar Khan just like the international web-series Money Heist.

La Casa De Papel or its more famous name Money Heist is an immensely loved web-series that is a worldwide hit. However, 50 Crores is trending on all social media platforms for all the wrong reasons. Twitter users couldn't help but crack jokes and create memes.

We have so many talented directors, actors, I think Pakistan’s film industry should continue to make its own identity.
