The Pakistan KPK government has finally announced to purchase the ancestral houses of Bollywood film legends, Raj Kapoor & Dilip Kumar.

The Indian cinema legends were born in Pakistan and came to India post the partition phase. Both of the icons "ancestral houses" lie in the heart of Peshawar and for the same, the provincial government in Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has decided to buy both the houses and convert them into places of historical significance.

Though Their houses Located in the older, ‘walled’ area of Peshawar, Kapoor's house is situatedin Dhak-i-Dalgaran whereas Kumar's house is located a few blocks away in Khudadad Mohallah of Qissa Khwani Bazaar.

Legendary film icons Raj Kumar and Dilip Kumar's heritage houses need renovation. Earlier in 2014, former Prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif government had declared the actor’s house as a national heritage.

However, Peshawar suffered an enormous knock-back to its cultural standing after changing into a hotbed of extremist violence from the 1980s onwards, bringing a finish to the golden period of Pashto-language cinema in the area, generally known as Pollywood.
