On this day 6th November 1947 is another blackest chapter in the history of Kashmir. When Muslims in Jammu were first disarmed, and then killed by marauding hordes in their homes, in the streets, and on the roads.

For decades Indian state terrorism has killed thousands of innocent Kashmiris fighting for their liberty. That Day also hundreds of thousands killed by the Hindu ruler's forces, the Indian army in November 1947. Where they reduced the Muslim population in Jammu from 61% to 33%.

Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and the world over are observing the Jammu Martyrs’ Day, today, with a renewed pledge to thwart Indian machinations and to continue the martyrs’ mission till the realization of their right to self-determination.

After the Partition of India, during October–November 1947 in the Jammu region of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, many Muslims were massacred and others drove away to West Punjab.

The killings were carried out by extremist Hindus and Sikhs, aided and abetted by the forces of Maharaja Hari Singh. The activists of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) played a key role in planning and executing the riots.

An estimated 20,000–100,000 Muslims were massacred. Subsequently, many non-Muslims, estimated as over 20,000, were massacred by Pakistani tribesmen and soldiers, in the Mirpur region of today's Pakistani administered Kashmir. Many Hindus and Sikhs were also massacred in the Rajouri area of the Jammu division.
