While majority of teens or young people are busy to making tiktok, making instagram stories, playing PUBG and keeping best to maintain their Snapchat streaks. Here's 19 years old Alyssa Carson, a space enthusiast is going to become the first human to walk on Mars. As NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration has recruited her for a group of young astronauts and hopeful space explorers excited to walk, visit and explore the surface of Mars.
Alyssa Carson always knew she wanted to be an astronaut, she was born on March 10, 2001 in Hammond, Louisiana,USA. After watching an episode of The Backyardigans about space travel, three year old Carson told her father that she wanted to become an astronaut and visit Mars.
Growing up, Carson’s imagination blew up with questions about space and space travel. She attended her first space camp at 5 years old. She remains the only person to attend every space camp offered including those in Turkey and Canada.
Alyssa and her father Burt Carson have traveled together to sixteen countries and NASA visitors centers across nine states. At age 15, she participated in the Advanced PoSSUM (Project Polar Suborbital Science in the Upper Mesosphere) Space Academy and at 16, Carson became the youngest person to complete the space camp program run by the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission.
Carson, who is now 19, has attended every NASA space camp and was the youngest person to graduate from the Advanced Space Academy and now she could soon become the first human to set foot on Mars.
NASA aims to send humans to Mars in the 2030s. A crucial though preliminary step in that effort launches later this month, when the Perseverance rover will begin its journey to the red planet. A 40-million-mile trip through a frozen expanse of dark and deathly emptiness, is where Carson plans to be by the time she’s 29. The harsh realities and risks of traveling to Mars don’t seem to faze Carson at all, not even the real risk of never returning to Earth.
Carson's online personality is NASA Blueberry, she uses the name on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
